Hello everyone...so I am loving my new design. Isn't it just me? One of my goals for this year was to spend more time being crafty and creative and sharing that work with everyone else. Hello everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. It is my goal for the year to post at least one time a week here. I do have a lot to post from over the holidays. I have some pictures and projects. I will get them posted soon. It has been so hectic. I love the holidays, but am glad they are over. I love seeing everyone, but all the travel can get tiring. Clipboard Projects...

These are a few clipboards I have made. I am making them as gifts for Christmas. One clipboard holds a post it pad on it and the other hods a calendar. The calendar and post it pad can both be changed out. I added a pocket on the back for the other calendar pages. I used small clipboards from Staples. They were $1.38 each. I bought a four pack of post it pads for $1.99 and a four pack of RSVP pens for $1.99. The RSVP pen has matching paper in it. Just decorate with your paper of choice and embellishments. Very quick and very easy.

Here is a baby gift I put together for my friend. I used a clear bucket that I emptied a bunch of chipboard out of. I used coasters to make the little picture frame. I used inspiration from Dawn to make the little book. Thanks

I made this mum for the arrival of my friends baby. I pieced it all together. I am so proud of it. My friends baby had to stay in the NICU for two weeks. They proudly hung it next to her incubator in the NICU!!!!

Time for an update...

So much has gone on in the past couple of months/weeks....
I finished my program. I am anxiously awaiting my degree...
I have already registered for my masters program. I can't wait to start that...I was getting a little bored.
I am looking for a new job...One in which I can use the knowledge learned through my degree...I am really excited about this prospect. Everyone prayers please...

Latest Project.

I made a book to keep my household information in. The book has a tab for each month and additional tabs for other sections. Each month has a calendar, along with a bill page, expenses page, grocery list page and notes page. Other sections include important numbers, bulk shopping sheets, menu sheets, special events sheets to make any necessary lists for events such as birthdays or other parties. I thought that with moving into a new house it would be helpful to have an organized way to keep up with everything. Hopefully it will be a real help.

So much is going on right now. January was a big month of reflection and decision making for both my husband and I.
1) A big career decision was made on my part. I will be hopefully teaching in the fall. I enrolled in an alternative certification program that will enable me to get my teaching certificate. When I started college I was going for education and made a change to healthcare. However I have a longing to teach and will be fulfilling that dream. With that said PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!! I am taking my Life Sciences Certification Test Feb 23, 2008 at 2:oopm. All prayers are welcome.
2) DJ and I are buying a house. We will be closing the week of the 25th. WE will be moving the end of the week. It was a major decision but one we were definitely ready to make. WE will be moving to a new city so I will be keeping in touch with everyone via email as I attempt to meet new people in my neighborhood.
3) Finally I will be having surgery the monday after we move into our new house. March 3, 2008. It has been a long time coming. I am ready to have this surgery and looking forward to the relief it will bring.
4) My final event coming up is to say I will be completing my Bachelors Degree on March 3, 2008 (yes the day of my surgery). That is a long awaited event. I will have my ceremony in which I will walk in June, which by then I will be working towards my Masters Program.

Okay well how is that for a run down. Busy first of the New Year. This is definitely the first year that has seen so many changes and goals that will be followed through with. I will be posting pictures of the new house soon.

I joined Dawn Rapsas Stampin Up group two nights ago. I am so excited. It was my Christmas Present to myself. My husband and I did not buy Christmas for each other this year and promised each other we could use a little of income tax a belated Christmas. I really am exicted. YEAH!!!

Being Sick Sucks

UGH...I am recovering from a virus, which sucks majorly. It is bad enough when you just don't feel good. But to be sick is so much worse. Not only did I feel horrible, but I was too sick to go to work and therefore I was playing catch up today. I am still really tired and worn down. I don't have any extra energy to do anything. Good thing my mind still works since my body doesn't want to.

Baby Shower Invitations

Finished my first project today. Baby Shower Invitations for a friend.

The front: I bought baby block paper from Hobby Lobby. I cut out the blocks, glued them on the front. Added a ribbon and a stamp of baby feet to the front.
Each block is then outlined with puff paint. I used a light color around the blocks and outlined the letters or numbers in a darker color.

The inside is stamped and colored. I used a bunch of little baby stamps to make a border and a large stamp to make the party information portion of the invite.

It really was so much fun to do this. I am so excited to start working on my Christmas Cards. I also have some new projects that I am going to be working on. I am going to make a baby book for my friend as well.

I finally have a workspace. YEAH. It is set up in my bedroom. I have affectionately come to call my bedroom, "The craft space with a bed". LOL. I got the table from my son's daycare. My huband was gracious enough to hang the wire shelving that I have put stickers and paints on for now. It is great. I don't have to lug everything up and down the stairs all the time. Maybe I can be more productive now.

So why blog???? I must thank the amazing friends I made at Scrap-A-Faire for the idea to even create my own blog. I have wanted a place to post my thoughts, ideas, and post my scrapbooking creations. Thank you all. I am so happy to have found that place. I am so sad that Scrap-A-Faire is almost over. IT has been a great experience and I have taken so much away from it just by meeting so many amazing people. I will be posting new pictures and creations as soon as possible. I have to take some pics of my scrapbooking pages so that I can post them.
